Some of the students had a variety of options in terms of their ideal future professional, such as wanting to be a teacher but also being interested in other professions, and I wondered if there are a certain number of people who think it is difficult to become a teacher because of tests and other requirements. In this class, I can learn about the different system to become teacher from the classmate who lived in other countries. It was interesting for me but actually in Japan, teachers have to work from 8AM to 8PM because they must join in the club activities. That’s why teacher is not popular job and person who take the tests to become teacher is gradually decreased. I think it is the biggest problem in Japan and government have to rethink about this system.
Among those who want to become teachers, there are some students who want to become teachers in their own country of birth and who want to work as teachers abroad, and I thought that their goals and experiences must be different. I didn’t think weather I want to work in my country or other countries, but through the life in Belgium, I think that I would like to work in my country for people who have some worries of the life in other countries. I want to help to students not only language ability but also the mental problems.
I also thought that the other students analyzed their own strengths and weaknesses and knew themselves very well. I am the type of person who only worries about my weaknesses and has a hard time finding my strengths, so while I envy those who can see things with a positive mindset and I would like to reflect on my own from positive perspectives.
I had never have the opportunity to hear about my classmates' future plans, so it was a new experience for me, and it made me realize that I need to think more deeply about my own future.
